For Beloved One Hyaluronic Acid Tri-Molecules Moisturizing Serum

For Beloved One is a well-know Taiwanese brand of cosmeceutical skincare, founded by an ex-beauty editor.  The brand is most well-known for its bio-cellulose sheet mask, which is adored by many Taiwanese celebrities eg. Barbie Hsu.  Since launching in 2004, For Beloved One is now a coveted and widely available brand in both Taiwan and China. I picked up its latest launch, Hyaluronic Acid Tri-Molecules Moisturizing Serum, in my first Mini Haul in Taiwan. For Beloved One Hyaluronic Acid Tri Molecules Moisturizing Serum What they say:

Innovative “natural cycling moisturising mechanism” to instantly capture, replenish and retain moisture.  High-density Sodium Hyaluronate with big molecules captures moisture in the air while Hyalo-Olig with small molecules penetrates deep into the skin to bring in the much needed moisture. Exo-H stimulates the formation of hyaluronic acid in the skin to keep the skin moist.  Moisture retention factor Lipidure-PMB holds moisture; and whitening factor Dermawhite makes the skin smooth and bright.

Ingredients: For Beloved One Hyaluronic Acid Tri Molecules Moisturizing Serum My experience:

For Beloved One Hyaluronic Acid Tri-Molecules Moisturizing Serum is a clear liquid that is only slightly more viscous than water. For Beloved One Hyaluronic Acid Tri Molecules Moisturizing Serum I generally use 1-2 pump full depending on how my skin is feeling, and focusing on the less oily parts of my face eg. cheeks.  The serum absorbs quite quickly, and leaves no stickiness at all.

I do find the serum to be quite hydrating; my face feels more balanced, plumper and less oily.  I don’t know if anyone else experiences this issue, but a lot of hyaluronic acid serums actually break me out.  The For Beloved One Hyaluronic Acid Tri-Molecules Moisturizing Serum doesn’t break me out at all, which is awesome.

This product is great under makeup, however the Product Development Manager at my work tells me that high concentration of hyaluronic acid actually reacts with makeup and especially sunscreen, causing the latter to become little balls and flake off the skin.  So the fact that the For Beloved One serum doesn’t cause my makeup to become flaky, means that it really doesn’t have all that much HA in it at all.

Now, I actually prefer a serum that I can wear under makeup and sunscreen, and since I find this product hydrating enough for me, I’d be quite happy to continue to use it.  The issue is though, that this serum is rather pricey.  17ml retails for NT$980 (just under AUD or USD$30) normally, which really only lasts for 2-3 weeks.  So if it in fact doesn’t have much HA in the formula, I’d rather pick up a cheaper product, which is what I did in my last Watson’s haul.

However, if my new cheaper HA serum breaks me out, I will repurchase For Beloved One Hyaluronic Acid Tri-Molecules Moisturizing Serum.  It’s a great hydrating product for people with oily skin, especially for during the day.

For Beloved One Hyaluronic Acid Tri-Molecules Moisturizing Serum retails NT$980 for 17ml and is available from Watsons, Sa Sa, Cosmed and For Beloved One counters Taiwan-wide.  101ml retails for NT$2,680 and is exclusive to Cosmed.  For non-Asia residents you can purchase it on Sasa.com here.
