One of the things I would most like to change on my face, but no cosmetic procedure is able to do so, is my eyebrows. I have no eyebrows and I hate it. Brows frame the face, and is the main thing that makes a person look omg-so-different without makeup on.
So the top essential items in my makeup bag are eyebrow pencil, brush AND shadows. The thought of forgetting any of them when travelling sends shivers up my spine, as without them, no matter how fab the rest of my makeup is, I’d look like a tortoise.
But remembering so many things for one part of the face is such a drag. Plus have you notice how difficult it is to find a decent eyebrow brush? I don’t mean the long metal bristle ones that come in many brush kits, but proper short but dense bristle brushes.
Thus as soon as I saw the Benefit Brows a-go-go at the MBBE, I had to grab one. It looked promising, and the packaging is so cute!
What They Say:
Benefit Brows a go-go helps to define and refine brows anytime, anywhere. The kit includes light and dark Brow-zings Shaping Powder and Pigmented Wax to define brows, Smokin’ Liner to line eyes, Eye Bright Cream, Brow Highlighter Powder to brighten eyes, Hard angle/talent Brush, Mini Tweezers and a step-by-step lesson.
My Experience:
I really love the packaging as it’s compact and looks super adorable (like most Benefit products). I also loved how many different products are in such a slick palette – not only do you get the brow shadows and brushes, but you also get a little tweezer and light coloured eyeshadows.

Contents: 2 brown shadows (1 taupe 1 dark brown) to cater for most hair colours, medium brown wax (to tame hairy brows & as base), black eyeliner, duo ended eyebrow brush, pearl eyeshadow, light pink semi-solid cream shadow, tweezer.
The compact also has a built in mirror and a little instruction manual, which I referred to the first time I used it:
Being an oily person I didn’t think the shadow would hold up. But I was pleasantly surprised to find the shadow soft & pigmented (be light-handed when you use it), yet lasts an entire day. The brush is also really easy to manoeuvre – even easier than a pencil!
I’ve also worked out how I can use the rest of the colours for simple eye makeup:
- Use the medium brown wax and dark brown shadow for brows – I use the angled side of the brush for the entire brows, then the more rounded side to soften the lines
- Line the eyes with the black eye pencil
- Apply the taupe shadow all over my lids and under the lower lashline
- Accent the middle of the lids with the pearl shadow
- Highlight the inner eye corners with the light pink creme shadow
Even though this is called a brow kit – the Benefit Brows a-go-go can really be used for the whole eye – which is awesome for people who travels a fair bit for work. And for me - no more fear of leaving my eyebrows at home!!!
Benefit Brows a-go-go retails for AUD$68 and is available from Benefit Boutique, MYER stores nationally, adorebeauty.com.au or 02 8353 5000.

Benefit does great makeup and their browkits are no exception. I have been dreaming of this one and now I am convinced xx

Ingrid: Definitely get it – I’ve now ditched my eyebrow pencil!
I have the exact opposite problem! I was born with caterpillar eyebrows that need a cleaning every so often. I have to say, the way you did your eyebrows looks gorgeous.
I know many an Asian aunty that turned to cosmetic tattoo-ing to have more prominent eyebrows… But it can look a little unnatural if overdone. Yours look great on the other hand.
Nice blog x

Michelle: We always want what we don’t have right? I would love to have bushy eyebrows! I may get my eyebrows tattooed one of these days – but will only do that in Taiwan – they now call it embroidery and is done in a much more natural way.
Thank you for reading my blog and your lovely compliments!
I love, love, love my benefit brow kit! And now I know another great way to use it, thanks to you
Bri: The shadows are really great for eyes! They’re matte and has great staying power!!
i feel your pain! i used to have thick brows but after years of too much plucking and having babies they’re now non-existent! the best thing i did was permanent makeup, it saves so much makeup time! now the color has faded and back to filling them in myself. this brow kit sounds great. will have to check it out when i visit the counter next time.

Coco: Oh no! I did some plucking in my younger days, but I started with not much hair so luckily it hasn’t made it worse. Now I’m so precious with my brow hairs – I don’t pluck any unless it’s like on my eyelid
This kit is so great for the brows – I thought it would be a hassle to use, but it turns out to be easier than drawing them in with pencil!
I have exactly the same issue: my brows are patchy, sparse, thin, with huge gaps at places, uneven… They’re the one thing I wish I could get fixed!
I have relied a lot on japanese brow liners because they’re waterproof and really long lasting but a/ it’s hard to find a shade that is dark enough AND not reddish and b/ they take a lot of practice and time to get things right.
I’m trying to go back to powder, and I love the effect, but I tend to get oily through the day in that area, and I’m scared that part of my brow will slide off! (it has happened, it’s not some irrational fear!) Brow gels set the powder on the hair in place, but not the powder on the skin, which I need!
Ah, brow dilemmas…

Musing on Beauty: I’m as oily as anyone can get, and I can say that the Benefit Brows a-go-go does last! The shadow on its own has great lasting power already, but the wax (apply it first, then the shadow on top) locks it in.
I am a long time Benefit lover and I don’t have this! Off to purchase one now I think, I am all about the eyebrows at the moment
Xx
Melinda: Get it get it!! Good brows are a must!!!
Love Benefit and their brow products, they really can do no wrong.
I think I may have finished two pans of these already!! Insane huh!

I am a faithful fan of this Brow A-Go-Go. Love the fact that it’s compact and has all that I need. I think I might need to get a new one soon, or maybe just the not so compact version. My wax is running out!

First thing I did when I moved to Melbourne was hit up the Benefit Brow Bar
Super impressed!
I have the opposite problem, my eyebrows are too thick, but I’ve always shaped them [incorrectly] and tried to thin them out.
Now I actually have to GROW them, which is a strange concept.
Great post.
I have BrowZings and its my current HG beauty item!

Lexi: Considering what a great product Benefit came up with, I’ve no doubt their Brow Bar would be fab! I wish I have thick brows so I can get them to shape them properly – don’t think I have enough hairs there for professional grooming
I love the brow zings too – and the wax is ingenious!!!
