Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush is perfection

This post is a gush post – and a MAJOR one.  To cut a long story short: the Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush is abso-f@&king-lutely the best beauty product I have ever purchased in my life.

I’ve not been in a habit of using a brush when applying foundation.  Mostly because I’m too lazy to cope with washing it; and secondly cos I’ve never come across one that does a better job than using my fingers to apply foundation (hence making the need to wash it even more unbearable).

However a couple of months ago, I saw this rather unassuming foundation brush making appearances in magazines – featured as many famous Taiwanese makeup artists’ weapon of choice.  Then I saw it in My Women Stuff and Ponikuta, and knew I just had to grab one.

Shiseido says:

Finally a foundation brush for use with all formulations – liquid, cream or powder. Shiseido’s innovative technology combines with traditional Japanese brush-making techniques to create the perfect foundation finish. Excellent pick-up of all types of formulas for a uniform application and impeccable finish. Gently tapered strands create an angled slant that best allows bristles to reach all facial contours.

The brush is small with very dense, short bristles that form a flat and slightly slanted surface.  It can be used with any formulation of foundation, BB cream and powder.  For liquids, I apply dots of the foundation onto the face, then buff it out with the brush.  For semi-solids or powder, dip it into the foundation first then apply it onto the face.

I’ve used this with BB cream, powder, and lately my beloved Face of Australia foundation stick (one of my favourite products in FOA):

You can see that the foundation is very evenly distributed on the numerous bristles.  I believe this is the key to how this brush works so brilliantly.  From the brush the foundation then gets transferred just as evenly onto the face, leaving no brush marks, and a flawless finish that is high in coverage yet looks soooo deliciously natural.

I do go through a bit more foundation using the Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush, but I think it’s because the brush does such a damn good job at making it look natural, rather than absorbing it into the bristles.  I think this as when I remove my makeup at the end of the day, I find a lot more foundation coming off my face than I did before I used this brush. Either that or this brush helps my makeup stay put for longer, which is a very welcomed effect!

The salesgirl at the Shiseido counter says to use a proper concealer brush when applying concealer, however I’ve also been using this to distribute concealer with great results too – just use the brush in a dotting motion, and it works very well at layering on more coverage where needed.

I also use this for liquid illuminator, and think it’ll work very well with cream or liquid blushes too – but I’ll need to buy another brush for that (excuses excuses icon biggrin Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush is perfection )

If you’re a foundation wearer, you NEED Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush.  It lives BEYOND its hype by 110%, and is a foolproof way of achieving a naturally flawless face. Seriously GO.GET.ONE.NOW!!!
