After purposely avoiding the beauty shops since I arrived, I finally allowed myself to venture into Cosmed (drugstore chain in Taiwan) yesterday. True, Mr Ronan and I are still in need of some home essentials. True, my first full payment from work isn’t for another month’s time and we have bills to pay before then. And true, I’ve already treated myself to hair cut/colour and eyelash extension. But I NEED my product fix, and I couldn’t wait any longer!!!
Cosmed was in all sorts of festivity yesterday, as they have a mega sale on right now. ALL sheet masks are Buy-One-Get-One-Free, and there were plenty of discounts and GWP promos. So I was rather proud of myself for leaving with only a mini haul:
Here are what I purchased (L to R):
Dr Wu Acnecur Pore Refining Toner - for the bout of congested pores that I’ve just started to suffer. This is a introductory trial size (30ml) for NT$69 (AUD $2.33).
For Beloved One Hyaluronic Acid Tri-Molecules Moisturising Serum - even though Taiwan is so humid, I find my skin feeling really dehydrated. This is also an introductory trial size (17ml) and at 50% off NT$499 (AUD $16.63).
Sexy Look Acne Care Volcanic Mud Deep Cleansing Mask - also for my congested pores.
Kuan Yuan Lian Cucumber Water Moisturising Mist - Much cheaper than mineral water mist sprays, and I’m interested to find out if this is better/worse.
I’ve actually been really wanting to haul the Shiseido foundation brush, another Lancome Rouge In Love lippy, Glossy Box subscription, and the new Laneige BB Cream Compact. But curiously, you can see not one of those items were purchased! I have a feeling this will be a regular occurrence in Taiwan, as there are soooo much variety when it comes to beauty products, and I’ve never been one to be able to resist temptation
Nevertheless, I’m really happy with my mini haul – the whole lot only added up to NT$900 (AUD$30) and I’ve already started using all but one of the items. So stay tuned for my reviews on these products!

The plethora of products at fabulous prices is making my passport cry out from my bedroom! Eeeep so lucky. Pft who needs kitchen tongs & a salad spinner when you have this.

Madam M: Hehe I know right – even though $900 in Taiwan is 3 days of food for me, I got some pretty good deals. Microwave and vacuum cleaner can wait I say!
The timing couldn’t have been better for you, it seems. You were able to satisfy your need for a product fix without spending too much.

Kara: For sure! The Shiseido brush, Lancome lippy and Laneige compact would have cost more than my entire haul each. AND I’ve started using all of them (a rarity for me)!
so jealous. When I was in Taiwan, nothing seemed to be on sale. Now if I want to buy sheet masks in the States, they’re a couple dollars each! I’m impressed with your self-control.
Kim: Awww what bad timing! I really wanted to buy sheet masks but I still have heaps at home – with so much beauty stuff here in Taiwan I NEED to learn self control
